You will lead a team of instructors and administrative staff.

You will develop the training so that it corresponds to the needs of the company, reflecting the operation.

A lot of cooperation with other AOC´s in the West Atlantic group is expected to be developed so it is vital that the incumbent in the role is a team player.

The West Atlantic fleet consists of BAE ATP, Bombardier CRJ-200, Boeing 737-300/400/800 aircraft and as the NP CT, you should be a current type-rating instructor on at least one of these types/class.

The job:


• Managing and overseeing the Company Training Department operations.
• Ensuring that the content & delivery of all training is in accordance with the Authority and the company’s requirements, as stipulated by PART-FCL, EASA OPS and the Company’s Operating Manual.
• Issuing and revising OMD, editing and approving publications, information and other background material relating to the work of the Training Department.
• Approving and supervising training of staff within the training department to ensure the highest of company standards are maintained.
• Ensuring that required resources are in place.
• Compliance with audit process findings.
• Managing Type and conversion training of crew proposed by Nominated Person Flight Operations.
• Developing and approving training syllabi & ensuring that training objectives are being achieved.
• Regularly perform compliance Inspection.
• Developing and maintaining a compliance monitoring programme to ensure operational processes are actioned in accordance with the department’s procedures and policies.

Required Qualifications

Type Rating Instructor on one of the following or similar types:

BAe ATP, CRJ-200 or B737.

Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.

You must have comprehensive knowledge of:


• the applicable EU safety regulations and any associated requirements and procedures.
• the AOC holder's operations specifications.
• the need for, and content of, the relevant parts of the AOC holder's operations manual.
• familiarity with management systems preferably in aviation.
• appropriate management experience, preferably in a comparable organisation.
• 5 years of relevant work experience of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.

• Are fluent in English both oral and written and at least one of the Scandinavian languages
• Experienced leader with documented leadership skills.

Our operation involves three aircraft types, Bae ATP, CRJ-200 and Boeing 737.

You will lead and develop the Flight Operation team for West Atlantic Sweden together with a dedicated team of Chief Pilots and administrative crew, including crew planning.

The NP FO is subject to approval by the Swedish CAA and reports to the Accountable Manager of the Company.

The NP FO has the full directive authority in flight operational matters.

 

The Job: 

The Nominated Person Flight Operations has to maintain authority in all flight safety and operational matters by; 


• Conducting a minimum of 25 flights a year; including training and checking to stay informed of pilot’s attitudes and standards.
• Leading the Flight Operations Department while coordinating with other Nominated Persons, subcontractors, relevant authorities etc.
• Prepare the departmental budget and activity plans and supervise its outcome.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all applicable regulations and limitations.
• Ensuring that all personnel are fully qualified and authorized for their assigned duties.
• Monitor that necessary equipment and sufficient resources are allocated for all flights to be carried out safely, appropriately, effectively and to the satisfaction of the customer.
• Maintain and develop relevant manuals and issue instructions to ascertain that company procedures and standards are in accordance with the requirements set by the applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist in Flight Operations and Crew Training Department with the following:                       


• Admin tasks for the daily flight operations environment
• Participate in admin tasks for the training department
• Compliance inspections and finding closures
• Project Planning
• Dealing with manuals and checklists
• Manage EFB contents
• Crew uniforms

 Academic/Educational Requirements


•  Aviation background

 Required Skills/Experience/knowledge:  


• Extensive knowledge of either BAe ATP /CRJ / B737 / B767 operations
• Knowledge of the West Atlantic product is desirable
• Previous work experience on EFB platforms. Windows or IOS based
• Up to date knowledge of Flight Operations and training matters
• Proven ability to work under pressure
• Effective interpersonal skills

As Safety Manager you will be the focal point for our integrated Safety Management System to meet regulatory requirements and promote industry best practice. You will ensure that the operation is carried out in accordance with our Air Operator Certificate and P145, as well as that the operation is carried out in compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements and the standards of the operator.

 

The job:


• Coordinate the development, administration, and maintenance of the Safety Management System
• Intervene as representative of the Company in terms of Operational Safety in all circumstances as required
• Coordinate and / or supervise the investigation of accidents and serious incidents.
• Promote the company Safety policy
• Advise on the development and updating of the Safety policy
• Supervise the hazard identification systems and risk analysis and management
• Collaborate in the fulfilment of the Operational Safety objectives and goals marked by management
• Plan and organize Operational Safety training for all personnel
• Review, adapt or modify all those aspects of the program that allow achieving the continuous improvement of the system

 You:


• Have minimum 5 years Aviation Operations experience within a Safety department
• Are fluent in English and Swedish both oral and written
• Preferably type rated on either ATP, CRJ, B737 or other jet experience.
• Have prior experience with Safety Management System
• Have problem solving and planning skills, day to day as well as strategic
• Have training experience
